Interfaith Prison Ministry for Women's Organizational COVID-19 Statement
Interfaith Prison Ministry for Women (IPMW) is aware of challenges posed by the rising number of confirmed cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) globally, in the U.S. and, in particular, Wake County. We are sensitive to the needs of staff who are in the direct line of service in our community. We will continue to follow NCDPS, NCCIW, and First Presbyterian Church protocols for all services that we offer in partnership with these entities. We will also continue to access reliable and relevant information so that we can take additional reasonable precautions as needed.
IPMW’s policy will be to continue to work in the community until a public request is made to work from home, and we will be sensitive to the needs of our working parents and program participants whose children may be kept at home due to school closings. We are making provisions to equip staff with the tech support and equipment they may need to work from home. In the event that there is a more widespread outbreak, we will continue to pay employees, including those who are not salaried, so as to encourage them to remain at home caring for themselves and their family without worry of losing wages.
When possible and in the event we do end up closing our office, we will conduct programs, meetings and other gatherings online or by phone, and provide services via text and phone. In the meantime, we are using and encourage our community to use all heightened hygiene protocols as shared by the CDC and WHO.
We hope that all are kept safe and remain healthy as we work together to address this public health challenge. Thank you.
