REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
DEVELOPMENT, GROWTH AND STRATEGY SERVICES
 

IPMW is seeking proposals from seasoned individuals who have a strong background in nonprofit fundraising, strategy, and rapid organizational growth to provide consulting and services.

SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS
Interested and qualified candidates are invited to submit proposals, which will be accepted until either March 18. 2022 or until the role is filled. The desired start date is April 1, 2022. Proposals should be submitted via email to jobs@ipmforwomen.org using the subject line “Development Services Consultant Proposal.”

BACKGROUND
IPMW is a unique organization operating at the nexus of prison chaplaincy, women’s issues, and social justice. The organization celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2020 and is poised for growth with significant new opportunities ahead. In addition to our long history providing psycho-spiritual nourishment inside the prison, a new reentry project provides comprehensive and holistic wraparound services for formerly incarcerated women, including housing and access to education and employment opportunities. All our work is offered in community using a trauma-informed and evidence-based lens.

SCOPE
The Consultant will support the organization in strategy, planning and implementation of fundraising, development and organizational growth goals. This is a contract position that reports to the CEO and works collaboratively with the organization’s staff and Board of Directors as needed.

Contract engagement will include utilizing information provided by IPMW staff to conduct the following assignments, with others to be added as needed and agreed upon by the Consultant and IPMW CEO:

Development Strategy and Planning
  • Conduct an audit and SWOT analysis of organization’s development and fundraising capacity.
  • Advise CEO to strengthen development and fundraising systems, structures, protocols and processes; assist with the completion of development SOPs.
  • Work with CEO to complete 2022 development plan.
  • Conduct research and recommend/source donor and funder prospects.
  • Arrange meetings with potential large-dollar funders, including but not limited to corporate, foundation, and individual.

Fundraising Services
  • Engage in robust, strategic fundraising work over the project period with a focus on IPMW exceeding its 2022 fundraising goals. Spearhead the creation of systems and structures for major donor campaign. ​
  • Research institutional funding opportunities and prepare proposals, LOIs, and other applications to funders in collaboration with staff in support of institutional giving goals.

Communications Support
  • Participate in rebranding message development.

Strategic Growth Support
  • Support CEO in creating a comprehensive internal strategy for rapid growth over 2022-2024 period, including governance, staffing, systems, financial projections, organizational values, and SOPs.

  1. Qualifications and related experience – Sufficient information should be provided regarding your qualifications to provide the requested scope of work.
  2. Client list and/or references – Of particular interest will be nonprofit or other organizations with which you have worked.
  3. Approach to fundraising and development.
  4. Fee proposal.
